OUR EDITORIAL PRINCIPLES

Curiosity.
With context.

The standards that guide the stories we aim to tell.

Our purpose

States X exists to help viewers understand American technology and inventions through clear, documentary-style explanations. Our editorial goal is to add context and analysis to the projects we cover.

Real projects, clear distinctions

We aim to distinguish working machines from prototypes, company announcements from independently demonstrated results, and current capabilities from future ambitions. A stated target, estimated price, or planned launch date should be understood in its original context.

Sources and uncertainty

Our editorial standard is to prioritize primary materials such as technical documentation, public demonstrations, and statements from the organizations building a project, while making room for independent scrutiny. When a question cannot be answered confidently, uncertainty is part of the story.

Commentary, context, and visual material

Our aim is for every documentary to offer its own explanation and perspective. Third-party footage, images, and quoted material remain the property of their respective rights holders. A video’s individual credits and description should be consulted for source information. Inclusion of a company or product is not an endorsement.

Commercial transparency

Any paid promotion, sponsorship, or affiliate relationship should be clearly identified in the relevant content. Editorial coverage should be distinguishable from advertising.

Corrections and right of reply

Found a factual error or missing context? Email admin@statesx.com with the video URL, timestamp, the statement in question, and supporting evidence. The project can review the issue and determine an appropriate correction or clarification.

If you represent a person or organization discussed in a video, use the same address to provide a response, technical documentation, or a rights-related concern.

Independent identity

States X is a documentary media project and is not presented as an official representative of the US government, YouTube, or the companies discussed in its content.
